i love you to the moon and the back

Despite being heavily pregnant (at 37 weeks!), me and my husband decided to held a birthday party for our daughter. She's 2 years old on 18th of January.
We know that it's going to be hard to do all the preps and such, since i'm already like this (a two-legged whale pfttt), but proudly we pulled it off!!
Of course with some help from our family and loved one.

It was my idea on the first place tho'. I was thinking that, since najah and her on-the-way lil' brother birthdays are going to be just a month apart, we might share the celebration on the same day in the future. haha.
So, this one is specially created for her alone :p

For the theme, we decided to go RAINBOW because i was so attracted to this cake from That Last Slice.

Quickly, I got in touch with the same baker, ms laili who did our 2nd anniversary cupcakes back in 2010.
I also found out that she's also capable of making a theme-able dessert bar. After a few phone calls and emails, she wowed us with this.

Well, if you guys interested, you can contact her here or here. She's a very nice lady and her price is also reasonable and negotiable.

Next up, the goodie bags.
I have been searching highs and lows for places selling party packs at a very reasonable price. It is not a problem if you are living in KL, but in JB it is kind of hard to locate this kind of places. After a few days of googling and asking here and there, we found this. We bought masks, clappers, party poppers and candies. Ms Laili was also kind enough to let us use her rainbow party kit. We printed out the Treat Bag Flag and voila, we have this!

For the guest list, we only invited a very few close friends and relatives to join in the celebrations.
Foods were all prepared by my wonderful-cum-superwoman mom. I am still in awe because she cooks Mee Keju, Roti Jala, Fried Bee Hoon and even Pudding Custard for 50 pax all by herself!  It is so true when people say you can always count on your mom.

To add some fun activities to the event, we spread out the swimming pool for the little ones to enjoy themselves. They sure have a great one hour with all the water splashes, chuckling and giggling before it rains heavily. haha.

Well, there goes some of the tit bits on the preparation and all, and I think I've write too much already.
Let's just feast on the photos taken from my fb.

just an inspiring story to keep this blog updated

A true story by Vic Gundotra

One Sunday morning, January 6th, 2008 I was attending religious services when my cell phone vibrated. As discreetly as possible, I checked the phone and noticed that my phone said "Caller ID unknown". I choose to ignore.

After services, as I was walking to my car with my family, I checked my cell phone messages. The message left was from Steve Jobs. "Vic, can you call me at home? I have something urgent to discuss" it said.

Before I even reached my car, I called Steve Jobs back. I was responsible for all mobile applications at Google, and in that role, had regular dealings with Steve. It was one of the perks of the job.

"Hey Steve - this is Vic", I said. "I'm sorry I didn't answer your call earlier. I was in religious services, and the caller ID said unknown, so I didn't pick up".

Steve laughed. He said, "Vic, unless the Caller ID said 'GOD', you should never pick up during services".

I laughed nervously. After all, while it was customary for Steve to call during the week upset about something, it was unusual for him to call me on Sunday and ask me to call his home. I wondered what was so important?

"So Vic, we have an urgent issue, one that I need addressed right away. I've already assigned someone from my team to help you, and I hope you can fix this tomorrow" said Steve.

"I've been looking at the Google logo on the iPhone and I'm not happy with the icon. The second O in Google doesn't have the right yellow gradient. It's just wrong and I'm going to have Greg fix it tomorrow. Is that okay with you?"

Of course this was okay with me. A few minutes later on that Sunday I received an email from Steve with the subject "Icon Ambulance". The email directed me to work with Greg Christie to fix the icon.

Since I was 11 years old and fell in love with an Apple II, I have dozens of stories to tell about Apple products. They have been a part of my life for decades. Even when I worked for 15 years for Bill Gates at Microsoft, I had a huge admiration for Steve and what Apple had produced.

But in the end, when I think about leadership, passion and attention to detail, I think back to the call I received from Steve Jobs on a Sunday morning in January. It was a lesson I'll never forget. CEOs should care about details. Even shades of yellow. On a Sunday.

To one of the greatest leaders I've ever met, my prayers and hopes are with you Steve.

just recently aired in korea.
the hero, lee min-ho (sila drools!).
the heroin, park min-young (she's that cutie from sungkyunkwan scandal).
the setup, it's about revenge thrillers

quote from dramabeans, 'a straight-up, you-killed-my-father-now-prepare-to-die action-vengeance series'.

up to this 4th episode, it doesn't fail me.
load each episode at 8pm at night, so i get to fully watch it by 11pm without any disturbance (yes, from the baby, hubby, or tv series :p)

so, watch it online here!
pftt it'll take a zillion years to watch it on air in malaysia and to make it worst, the spoken language will be change to mandarin!
